About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Stepdown or progressive care experience Telemetry experience Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix Description: The unit has 40 beds. Staff includes 1 Charge Nurse and 10 bedside nurses during the day shift. There are 4 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary. The night shift also has 1 Charge Nurse and 10 bedside nurses. There are 3 Patient Care Technicians for the night shift. Patient ratios are 1:4, with stretch staffing at a 1:5 ratio. The unit cares for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those who have had cardiac catheterization, stenting, pacemaker/ICD placement, or ablation. Equipment used includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Candidates should possess experience with prostacyclins, such as Flolan, Veletri, and Remodulin. Relief charge experience is preferred. Common procedures performed include bedside cardioversion. Ideal candidates have a flexible and positive attitude. Compassion and being a great team player are essential. Floating may occur to all MedSurg units and Stepdown units. Weekend work will be required every other weekend. The position is a contractor replacement role. About Cynet Health
