Non-Commodity Procurement (NPC) Category Manager

Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Non-Commodity Procurement, the North America (NA) Non-Commodity Procurement (NPC) Category Manager is responsible for Energy, Facility Management, Professional Services & Mobile Capital across twenty‑four operational locations in North America. The role resides within ofi’s Non‑Commodity Procurement function and involves developing and executing category strategies that drive measurable business value. Acting as a strategic business partner to functional and operational stakeholders, this individual identifies enterprise‑wide opportunities to optimize cost, improve service delivery, mitigate risk, and strengthen supplier performance across the defined categories. Position Responsibilities Develop, lead and execute category strategies for Energy, Facility Management, Professional Services, and Mobile Capital, including multi‑year strategic roadmap planning and alignment across business units and stakeholders. Apply the 7‑Step Sourcing process from business case initiation to strategy execution and disposition. Assemble, coordinate and lead cross‑functional stakeholder councils to vet, execute and secure continued performance of sourcing strategies. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders at business unit, country and regional levels and with external suppliers/consultants, leading routine strategy updates. Analyze market dynamics to understand upstream cost drivers, their impact on cost and market capacity, and develop mitigation strategies. Establish category KPI targets (cost, control, process efficiency) and supplier scorecard programs to quantify performance and value return. Design control plans to measure utilization of supply strategies, quantify the impact of programs on cost and P&L, and propose corrective actions. Establish benchmark measures at project start and track success, including cycle times, lead times, savings, improved delivery and simplified processes. Leverage strategic sourcing & category management competencies: 7‑Step Sourcing, multi‑year planning, should‑cost modeling, strategic negotiations, contract management, value stream mapping, TCO, SRM, and data analytics. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations/Engineering or related field with significant work experience. Minimum 5+ years of procurement experience, including strategic sourcing in Facility Management, Energy, Professional Services, MRO and supplier management. Industry experience in CPG/FMCG/Pharma/Food highly desired. Expertise in SAP/SAP S4 HANA procurement systems. Experience leading cross‑functional, functional, and/or global teams in a matrixed environment. Knowledge of cost drivers and influence of market and technology trends within assigned categories. Ability to develop fact‑based business case justifications and influence group decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting complex technical issues to peers and non‑experts. Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environment with agility, collaboration and accountability. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel). Travel required up to 25%. The pay for this role in the state of Illinois ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location.
