Registered Nurse

Nurses in this role will care for post-surgical and medical patients, as well as those in stepdown units. This position is part of a hospital float pool and staff will be expected to float to various units, including the emergency department. Nurses will have a patient ratio of 4 to 6 during shifts. Floating is required within the facility's scope of practice. Every other weekend coverage is necessary. Call requirements do not apply to this position. The minimum experience requirement is 2 years, and first-time travelers are not accepted. If there is a major holiday during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it. Full compliance is required to start on time; failure to complete compliance items in time will result in delays. Local candidates are accepted under the same conditions as travelers. The role will include caring for adults and geriatric patients. Interdisciplinary support is available through various services including physical therapy and pharmacy. Preferred skills include care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, and management of dysrhythmias. Nurses are expected to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Additional preferred skills include telemetry monitoring and experience with rapid response or code teams.
