Assistant Manager I

Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities. Provide positive customer service and address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, and other store‑activity communications. Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts). Support loss prevention and maintain clean, well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards. Protect and secure company assets, including store cash. Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and that store associates follow company policies. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates. Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders. Handle additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required. Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and endure frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required. Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required.
