Avionics Technician

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician II to independently install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems for ISR and aviation projects. Responsibilities Perform installation and maintenance of avionics equipment independently. Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems. Conduct detailed testing of avionics components. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations. Assist in training junior technicians. Maintain tools, equipment, and manuals in good condition. Qualifications – Required High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of relevant experience; higher degree may substitute. Proficiency in electronic principles and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to understand technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications; wire routing per drawings. Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation. Experience with soldering and crimping techniques. Must have own tools in good working order. Qualifications – Preferred Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or related field. Advanced soldering skills and knowledge of electronic test equipment. Ability to read and interpret advanced technical manuals and schematics. Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL). Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military. Essential Functions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift. Hand and finger dexterity for small mechanical components and tools. Work in noisy environments; potential exposure to hazardous materials. Travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice. Work in a combination of office and field environments. Read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately. Hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments. Navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights. Drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations. Maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. Follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols. Strong awareness of safety protocols and mitigate potential hazards.
