Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a community hospital setting, open to first-time travelers.

Details

• Community hospital and clinic setting caring for pediatric to geriatric patients
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and PACS systems
• Possible floating to another campus for STAT inpatient coverage
• On-call required, 1-2 weekdays per week (4:00 PM-10:00 PM) and every fourth weekend (8:00 AM-10:00 PM Sat-Sun)
• No weekend shifts except when on call

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• ARRT (NM) and/or NMTCB certification required
• BLS certification required
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience with HIDA scans, bone scans, lymphoscintigraphy, gastric emptying studies, and brain death studies
• Experience with myocardial perfusion SPECT, I-123 uptake scans, I-131 whole body scans, and I-131 ablations (<30 mCi)
• Experience with renal scans with and without Lasix, and parathyroid scans
• Proficiency with GE and Siemens equipment
• Skill in starting and maintaining IVs
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures including bone, renal, brain, liver, and thyroid studies, PET scans, and cardiac stress testing
• Scrub colors limited to black, gray, or purple
• Expected to work assigned holidays based on how many major holidays fall within the contract period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
• No RTO permitted during orientation week
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
