**There are 2 positions available. 1 with the hours of Monday - Friday 11am - 7:30pm and the other with the hours of Tuesday - Friday 11am - 7:30pm.** The Clinical Flow Cytometry Laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center is a highly specialized diagnostic laboratory that plays a critical role in the diagnosis, classification, and monitoring of hematologic malignancies and immune disorders. Utilizing advanced flow cytometry technology, the laboratory performs complex immunophenotyping that provides physicians with essential diagnostic information to guide treatment decisions and monitor disease progression. As part of one of the world's leading cancer centers, the Clinical Flow Cytometry team is committed to delivering accurate, timely, and innovative diagnostic services that directly impact patient care. This Medical Laboratory Scientist position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized laboratory utilizing advanced flow cytometry techniques to support complex cancer diagnostics. The role is ideal for a laboratory professional who enjoys working with sophisticated instrumentation, analyzing complex data, and contributing to a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care. In this role, you will perform specialized flow cytometry testing, including specimen processing, antibody staining, instrument acquisition, and analysis of routine flow cytometry panels. You will evaluate specimen quality, recognize technical issues such as missing antibodies or inadequate event acquisition, accurately interpret and sign out basic panels including lymphocyte subsets, CD34, and ratio studies, and ensure all testing is completed in accordance with established laboratory protocols. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality are essential to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results. You will also contribute to laboratory operations and continuous improvement by maintaining laboratory inventory, participating in process improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supporting efficient laboratory workflows. The ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and adapt to changing laboratory demands is critical in this fast-paced clinical environment. Success in this position requires strong computer proficiency and analytical skills. You will utilize laboratory information systems to accurately document specimen information, analyze and evaluate patient results, maintain electronic records, and ensure complete and accurate reporting of laboratory findings. Effective communication, accountability, and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with pathologists, laboratory professionals, and multidisciplinary clinical teams. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Performs all laboratory testing specific to the assigned section. - Remains knowledgeable and competent for all policies, procedures and protocols. - Competent in processing specimen, staining, and acquisition. - Able to accurately analyze basic panels on a daily basis. - Capable of recognizing basic errors such missing antibodies, too low events acquired. - Able to accurately sign off on basic panels such as ratio, lymphocyte subsets, and\or CD34. - Follows section's inventory control system to assure effective use of supplies and reagents. - Completes, verifies and reports testing in timely manner. - Complies with safety guidelines and procedures and adheres to regulatory mandates. - Remains responsible and accountable for all actions. Enhances productivity and laboratory lab functions by demonstrating dependability.

• Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology OR
• Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or Molecular Genetic Technology OR
• Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program
Required Experience:
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with an Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
• 1 year of clinical laboratory experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a related science field
• No experience required with completion of a NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science/Molecular Genetic Technology accredited program
