Job Title: Radiation Therapy Physicist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and Board-Certified Radiation Therapy Physicist to ensure the safe, precise, and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation. Working in close collaboration with Radiation Oncologists and clinical staff, you will oversee the quality, safety, and calibration of advanced therapeutic equipment, assist with complex treatment planning, and ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulatory standards.

Compensation & Premium Incentives:

• Hourly Rate: $80.00 – $120.00 / hour (Dependent on experience)
• Sign-On Bonus: $25,000 Sign-On Bonus
• Relocation: Eligible for comprehensive relocation assistance.
• Residency Support: Eligible for stipend payments up to $20,000 while in residency.
  

Position Details:

• Schedule & Location: Full-Time. This role is primarily on-site to manage clinical equipment operations, with flexibility for 1 day per week remote work once established.
• Sponsorship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future visa sponsorship.
  

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Degree: Master of Science in Medical Physics, Physics, or a closely related field [Required] . A Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Medical Physics or a related discipline is preferred.
• Residency: Must have completed a formal Medical Physics Residency within the past 5 years [Required] .
• Clinical Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-residency experience in a clinical setting is [Highly Preferred] .
  

Licensure & Certifications:

• Primary Board Certifications: * Board Certification as a Radiation Therapy Physicist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physicists (ABMP) [Required] .

  • Note: Candidates tracking toward full certification must achieve ABR certification (or equivalent) in therapeutic Medical Physics within 3 years of hire.
• Regulatory Eligibility: Must be fully eligible to meet state Department of Health and Human Services standards as an Authorized Medical Physicist (AMP) [Highly Preferred] .
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and review QA policies and procedures for all therapeutic equipment, including linear accelerators and brachytherapy systems, ensuring smooth, safe, and regulatory-compliant clinical operations.
• Calibrations & Testing: Perform rigorous clinical acceptance testing, commissioning, calibrations, and lead-shielding room evaluations on all new or repaired clinical equipment; verify daily machine output and quality parameters.
• Treatment Planning & Collaboration: Partner with Dosimetrists and Radiation Oncologists to design, verify, and execute optimal treatment plans for External Beam radiation, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IOeRT).
• Brachytherapy Oversight: Perform precise treatment planning for High-Dose-Rate (HDR) treatments and actively monitor patients and equipment performance during active treatment delivery.
• Software & Workflow Management: Evaluate, update, and manage treatment planning computers, radiation calculation algorithms, measurement tools, and oncology record-and-verification software interfaces.
• Clinical Supervision: Provide technical oversight and guidance to Dosimetrists and Radiation Therapists regarding daily physics protocols and complex case planning.
