TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Shelby, North Carolina, 28150!

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele RN experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone). General medical/surgical skillset in care of patients with tubes/drains. IV start skills, blood products, wound care, and dressing changes. Description: This is an RN position in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. The unit has 24 beds with an average daily census of 24. The patient demographic includes various diagnoses like cardiac, respiratory, and neuro conditions. The environment is fast-paced and includes observation patients. Patient ratios are 1:5-6 during both day and night shifts. In surge staffing, ratios could increase to 1:7-8. CNA support is provided with a ratio of 1:12. There is a charge nurse present who may have a patient assignment but will primarily act as a resource for staff. Phlebotomy and IV/VAT teams are available. Respiratory therapy is on-site 24/7. Clientists are available during day shifts, with virtual coverage in the evenings and overnight. An intensivist is also present 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is managed remotely with the aid of telemetry technicians. The EMR system is EPIC, and at least 6 months of experience with it is required. Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms. Floating to other facilities within regional needs will be required as needed but remains within scope of practice. Flexibility to float during mid-shifts may be necessary, and compensation for travel time will be provided. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, with some potential for call required due to low census. Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the contract duration if unable to meet contracted hours. Shift times include 0645-1915 and 1845-0715, with a schedule cycle of every 6 weeks. The unit culture is described as excellent.
