Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed Medical Surgical unit during night shift hours
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5, delivering safe and effective nursing care
• Care for patients with conditions including Stroke (Neuro), CAPD, Congestive Heart Failure, COVID, and Cardiovascular (Cath) diagnoses
• Float to surgical unit as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC EMR
• Participate in required holiday coverage as determined by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months of experience in Medical Surgical, IMCU, PCU, or Stepdown nursing
• Work history must reflect at least 24 months of current Med Surg, Tele, Med/Tele, IMCU, PCU, or Stepdown experience
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Comfort caring for patients with Stroke (Neuro), Cardiovascular (Cath), COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, and COVID diagnoses
• Active AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required; valid driver's license required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification (strong certificate preferred; candidates may apply during onboarding)
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Med Surg, Tele, Med/Tele, IMCU, PCU, or Stepdown-specific skills checklist on file
