Solution ArchitectThe Hartford is seeking a transformative, customer centric Solution Architect to join the Small Business IT team where we build and scale some of the industry's best Small Business digital experiences from quote-to-bind-to-service. If you're energized by cutting-edge technology Gen-AI, advanced digital products, APIs, Microservices, Micro Frontends, Cloud-first strategies, SaaS solutions, and more—this is your moment to shine among the best.This role will have a hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, or Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).Qualifications:5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, or Senior Software Engineering within a large enterprise environment.Experience in the Small Commercial Insurance industry.Proven success designing and delivering cloud-based solutions in AWS and/or Google Cloud.Experience with:Microservices and service-oriented architecturesAPI and event-driven integrations (REST, SOAP)Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Machine Learning, including:Large Language Models (LLMs)Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)Semantic SearchEmbedding ModelsAgentic AI architecturesKnowledge of Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) and modern authentication standards (OAuth2, OIDC).Experience building modern web applications using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.Strong understanding of:APIs, REST, JSON, and standardsCloud and hybrid-cloud environmentsContainerized applications and orchestration platformsExperience applying product thinking, measuring success through KPIs, and balancing reliability, scalability, and cost.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and mentor technical teams.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.Cloud and Architecture certifications are a plus.Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:$131,600 - $197,400
