Patient Services Rep PRN- Old Brooklyn

Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus Biweekly Hours: 0.01 Shift: PRN leave/call off/vacation coverage for west region (OBC, WP, OHC, W150th, WCP) The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well‑being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. Summary Serves as preliminary contact for the Ambulatory Care Enterprise. Gathers and analyzes patient demographic and payor data to achieve optimal reimbursement for the MetroHealth System (MHS). Ensures appropriate patient registration, scheduling, precertification and authorization for services. Upholds the standards of the system wide customer service standards of the Metro Health System. Qualifications Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Possesses one of the following: One year of work experience in medical billing or patient registration. Education related to medical billing or patient registration from an accredited institution. Possession of current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA). All qualified applicants must pass the PSR pre‑employment screening test with a score of 75% or better and the post‑employment test of 80% or better. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Two years relevant work experiences and/or education. Physical Requirements May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift up to twenty‑five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face‑to‑face, phone, email, and other communications.
