Machine Learning Engineer, Search Recommendation Location: San Jose Employment Type: Regular Job Code: A257414 Responsibilities Enhance search recommendation services and models for TikTok, driving increased search traffic on TikTok and TikTok Mall, while improving users' search understanding. Optimize the recommender system based on hyperscale machine learning models, covering tasks from recall/first-stage ranking to final-stage ranking in the end-to-end workflow. Explore the upper limits of short text recommendation and general recommendation technology, focusing on the interaction between recommendation and NLP technology. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of work experience in machine learning with a strong product sense and focus on user experience. Bachelor or advanced degree in computer science or related technical discipline. Excellent coding skills with solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms. Excellent analytical, modeling, and problem‑solving skills, able to uncover core problems in complex data. Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this position in San Jose is $122,574–$316,800 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Base pay is one part of a total package that may include additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
