Job Summary RN Clinical Nurse – Critical Care. Primary responsibilities include supporting a proactive, interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who provide high‑quality, safe patient care. The role is practiced in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and assisted by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. Nursing practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based standards, and the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act. The RN supports the voice of the patient, follows system policies, and enhances service excellence. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes – Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking. Coordinates care through partnerships and adapts service delivery to meet cultural diversity. Teamwork and Collaboration – Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe quality care, including interdisciplinary rounds and case reviews. Promotes inclusive communication, fiscal responsibility, and shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative – Completes required competency assessments and mandatory education, mentors other nurses and staff, and models professional practice. Evidence Based Practice and Research – Participates in research, value analysis, data collection, and consultation to address clinical questions and improve patient care outcomes. Resources and Support – Plans patient care across the continuum, develops protocols and procedures, and supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Diploma from an accredited nursing program – Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing (required). Bachelor’s Degree – Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred). Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Instructor. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Instructor or Provisional. Required Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years of direct patient care experience (preferred). Required Minimum Skills Ability to read, write and speak English. Competent use of technology to support clinical care. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills. Capacity to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness and respect. Excellent time‑management skills.
