Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days, 12-Hour Shifts (0700-1930) | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a typical 1:4 patient ratio in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Manage a diverse cardiac patient population including post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillation, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow (e.g., detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, Fem-Pop bypass)
• Administer and monitor vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• Pass an EKG competency test during the first week of hire
• Float to all inpatient units as needed based on census demands
• Document accurately using Epic EMR in accordance with unit standards

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU setting
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Demonstrated experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required - candidates without this experience cannot advance in the interview process
• Minimum 1 year of recent Epic charting experience required
• At least one prior travel assignment must have been completed

• Strong ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change in a high-acuity environment
• Experience with post-operative cardiac surgical patients including CABG and valve repair/replacement
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, and device management (pacer, defibrillator)
