Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse - House Supervisor provides clinical leadership and oversight during off-shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays at a skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for supervising nursing staff, facilitating patient flow and admissions, managing emergency situations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The House Supervisor acts as a resource for clinical problem-solving and supports staff mentoring and coaching, while managing complex patient care needs and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the facility-wide RN supervisor during off-shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)
Provide clinical problem-solving support and serve as a resource for nursing staff
Mentor, coach, and supervise nursing personnel to ensure high-quality care delivery
Facilitate patient flow and admissions to the facility
Manage code situations and emergency preparedness protocols
Oversee infection control and isolation procedures
Monitor, report, and document sentinel events and incidents
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including DPH, TJC, OSHA, and HIPAA
Manage staffing levels, productivity standards, and conduct performance coaching
Start and maintain IVs, manage PICC lines, and other specialized equipment care
Handle workplace safety, risk management, and documentation related to patient deaths

Required Skills & Certifications:

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with previous charge or supervisory experience required
Active Registered Nurse license
BLS certification required
Experience working in Skilled Nursing Facility settings
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
Strong knowledge of infection control, risk management, and emergency response
Ability to manage assaultive behaviors and de-escalation techniques
Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience managing complex patient populations including dementia, Alzheimer's, and rehabilitation patients
Familiarity with labor laws including FMLA
Experience with wound vacs, nephrostomy tubes, tube feeds, colostomies, and other specialized equipment

Special Considerations:

Must provide weekend coverage every other weekend
Orientation includes a day shift during the first week
Dress code allows any color scrubs
Local candidates must live more than 75 miles away
Work environment includes managing patients with dementia, violent behaviors, and complex chronic conditions

Scheduling:

36 hours per week comprising 3 shifts of 8 hours and 1 shift of 12 hours
Shift times include 11pm-7am, 3pm-11pm, and 7pm-7am
