Job Title: QA Automation Engineer
We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with a strong focus on API testing to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in quality assurance and automation testing, with a proven track record of developing and executing automated test scripts for APIs. This role requires a detail oriented individual who can work collaboratively in a fast paced environment and ensure the delivery of high quality software products. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using industry standard tools and frameworks.
- Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand API specifications and requirements.
- Participate in test planning and strategy discussions, providing input on automation best practices.
- Document test cases, test results, and defect reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support for manual testing efforts as needed, particularly in areas where automation is not feasible.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to QA automation and API testing.
- Strong expertise in API testing, including RESTful and SOAP services.
- Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for test script development.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins, Git, or similar.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of database testing and SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud based testing environments and tools.
- Experience in mobile application testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 7 years of experience in QA automation with a focus on API testing.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
