What You'll Do as a Billing Specialist
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices based on contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.
- Review billing data for completeness and accuracy before submitting.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments to keep cash flow on track.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to client inquiries with professionalism and urgency.
- Collaborate with customers, operations, and finance to ensure billing alignment and smooth workflow.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
Skills and Experience
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple billing tasks and deadlines accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support both internal teams and external clients.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and general computer systems.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and billing processes.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused mindset.
- 2+ years of experience in billing, invoicing, payroll, or accounts receivable preferred.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
