Description

American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a Night Shift Emergency Department position requiring at least 3 years of ED experience with prior charge and travel experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department (Combined Adult/Pediatric) within a Level II Trauma Center
• Facility is STEMI and Stroke Certified
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Weekend rotation required, either every other or every third weekend depending on unit need
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
• Charge nurse responsibilities included

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Prior Charge RN experience in the ED required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS in hand
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in emergency and trauma care including cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies
• Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic trauma care

Additional Information

• Provide direct emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Manage trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Respond to neurological emergencies such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Required orientation modules must be completed and signed off by facility managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions and no blocked scheduling requests
• All time off must be disclosed prior to starting the assignment and cannot be modified afterward
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as non-local candidates
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
