Surgery)/ (608) Location: Wesley Medical Center Address: 550 N Hillside St, Wichita, KS 67214 Floor: 4 East Building: Main South Building General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds - 24 Number of Staff 19 staff members with 6 new nurses onboarding within this month Type of staff: Day Shift 1 charge, 5 nurses and an Admin Care tech we function primary nursing care model Night Shift 1 charge and 5 nurses when we are full Patient Ratios 1:5 EMR Meditech / CPN Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters) Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum 1-year current hospital acute care Oncology RN experience BLS Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. VS performed q8h Remote tele patients get VS q4h Chemotherapy can only be hung and handled by chemo-certified nurses Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: We are an awesome team that is a med/surg unit with a focus in Oncology care, we have a strong charge nurse team that helps to support new staff members. We also are a remote tele unit so we see a bit of everything along with our oncology patients. Our hospital is in the top 100 hospitals of the nation and we are proud of the quality care that we give. Our team is very positive, and it is a joy to work with, we often have float pool staff say they love coming to our unit because the teamwork is so strong. We are also a magnet facility so we really appreciate nurses input in how care should be delivered to our patients and we also use an iPhone nursing system so nurses can text and call any care team member immediately from their work iPhone.
