Production Supervisor

American Bath Group (ABG) is a leading North American manufacturer of bath and shower products serving residential and commercial markets through a portfolio of established brands. At Bootz, our manufacturing teams are focused on producing quality products safely, efficiently, and consistently while continuously improving operating performance. American Bath Group is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Bootz manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent performance of a night-shift production team and provides direct leadership for approximately 8-12 employees. The Production Supervisor is accountable for shift execution across safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee performance, and operational documentation. The position requires regular presence on the production floor, sound independent judgment, and the ability to maintain operating discipline when senior leadership is not onsite. The successful candidate will combine visible floor leadership with strong supervisory discipline by establishing clear expectations, developing employees, addressing performance issues, monitoring production results, and identifying practical opportunities for improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead, coach, and develop approximately 8-12 production employees. Maintain a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor while retaining responsibility for overall shift performance. Promote and enforce safe work practices, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and other required safety procedures. Monitor hourly production performance, daily output, and product mix to support established operating targets. Ensure required quality checks are completed accurately and consistently. Monitor scrap, material usage, PPE usage, and other controllable production costs. Make routine operating and people decisions during the shift and elevate issues appropriately when additional support is required. Coach employees on performance, expectations, work standards, and safe operating practices. Address performance and behavioral concerns promptly, professionally, and consistently. Maintain accurate documentation related to downtime, coaching, performance, discipline, quality, and other relevant shift activity. Review production information and operating metrics to identify issues and maintain shift performance. Support training and communication across a diverse, multilingual workforce. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, strengthen accountability, and improve overall operating discipline.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within the first 6-12 months, successful performance will be demonstrated through consistent execution in the following areas: Strong, visible safety leadership and consistent enforcement of safe-work expectations. Reliable performance against established hourly production-rate and daily-output expectations. Effective control of scrap, material usage, and other avoidable production waste. Clear expectations and consistent accountability across the shift. Sound decision-making during night-shift operations without unnecessary dependence on senior leadership. A constructive, solutions-oriented approach to operating challenges and process improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a hands-on, heavy manufacturing environment. The role requires substantial time on the production floor and regular interaction with hourly employees in a fast-moving, performance-driven operation. Industrial environment that may be dirty and physically active. Night-shift responsibility with limited immediate senior-leadership presence. Continuous focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee performance. Frequent employee coaching, performance management, and documentation responsibilities. Multilingual workforce and the need to communicate expectations clearly across language differences. Operating processes that continue to evolve and require practical problem-solving and adaptability. The schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week. The anticipated schedule is most likely Thursday through Saturday, although Monday through Wednesday may apply depending on operational alignment. Some every-other-Sunday coverage may also be required based on business needs.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications and Capabilities Demonstrated ability to take ownership and make sound decisions in a production or operational environment. Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to model and enforce established safety requirements. Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching employees, setting expectations, addressing performance issues, and holding team members accountable. Ability to work the required night-shift schedule and maintain reliable attendance. Comfort working onsite in a heavy manufacturing environment. Ability to maintain a visible floor presence while managing the performance of the overall shift. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate operational and employee documentation. Preferred Background Previous production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Production Lead or Team Lead experience with demonstrated readiness for broader supervisory responsibility. Experience leading hourly manufacturing employees. Experience in a manufacturing operation where raw materials or components are transformed into finished products. Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of manufacturing equipment or production processes. Experience working with production KPIs such as throughput, quality, scrap, safety, or similar operating measures. Exposure to Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, waste reduction, root-cause analysis, or standard work. Computer proficiency sufficient for production reporting and employee documentation. Bilingual English/Spanish capability is strongly preferred and would be particularly valuable in training, coaching, safety communication, and employee engagement.

LEADERSHIP APPROACH

The role requires a leader who can function as both a teacher and coach while maintaining clear standards and accountability. Effective supervisors in this environment establish expectations, reinforce standards, provide direct coaching, and maintain visibility across the full shift. Technical credibility and occasional hands-on demonstration are valuable; however, the supervisor must remain focused on leading the operation rather than routinely performing operator work. Candidates should demonstrate a constructive, solutions-oriented approach to operating challenges and continuous improvement.
