Become a Food Service Worker 1 with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and bring energy to a team that helps support daily life at the Selinsgrove Center. This position focuses on preparing, portioning, delivering, and storing food items that support daily living at the Selinsgrove Center. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and organized food service operation across multiple work areas. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Food Preparation: Prepare simple food and beverage items and assist with cutting and organizing ingredients
• Meal Assembly: Portion foods, place service wares, and check trays for accuracy during active tray line operations
• Sanitation Work: Clean and sanitize dishes, equipment, and work areas using approved procedures and chemicals
• Storage Tasks: Organize, label, and store food items using proper rotation methods and temperature checks
• Equipment Handling: Use kitchen tools, carts, and electrical food service equipment safely and correctly
• Delivery Support: Load, deliver, and return food carts and supplies to assigned areas

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment, 20 hours per week
• Work hours are 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. You will work a rotating schedule with every third weekend off.
• Overtime as needed
• Free parking
