About the Position

Job Title: RN - NICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of NICU RN acute care experience License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS and NRP Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current NICU RN acute care experience. Candidates must have infant resuscitation experience. Description: This position involves working in a neonatal intensive care environment with a bed capacity of 6. The unit operates with a core staffing model of 2 NICU RNs and 1 NNP on site 24/7, along with neonatologists available on call 24/7. Patient ratios are 3:1 for feeder-growers, and 1:1 for ventilated babies. Common equipment used in the unit includes Giraffe Omnibeds, STAR GE resuscitation for transport, and Giraffe with Shuttle transport. EMR systems in use are CPN and Meditech. Qualities sought in candidates include the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment with a cohesive team dynamic. The unit emphasizes a family-like atmosphere, with a strong sense of belonging and engagement among staff. Typical procedures performed on the unit include assisting with umbilical line placement, intubation, lumbar puncture assistance, and circumcision. Candidates with level 3 or 4 NICU experience or those who have experience with Eat Sleep Console for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome will be given priority.
