Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12 Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan. Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Provide timely patient status updates for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of assessments and interventions in the medical record. Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, delivering direct patient care while prioritizing education for patients and their families. Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and conduct patient teaching in anticipation of discharge. Communicate changes in patient status among care providers to ensure continuity and safety. Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel while utilizing effective decision-making and organizational skills. Maintain personal and environmental safety by following hospital policies and procedures. Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and engage in team-building activities. Assume charge responsibility as requested and pursue professional development opportunities. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS Certification required prior to first shift. ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH only). Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
