This is a unique opportunity to join a team of talented individuals and influence the architecture and technical direction of a highly available, high-traffic, robust cloud based platform within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine!**Job Responsibilities*** Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications using modern technologies and best practices.* Lead the technical design and implementation of significant features and modules within our product suite, ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines and company standards.* Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.* Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards, performance, and security best practices.* Identify and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.* Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.* Contribute to the improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies.* Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems as needed.* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending their adoption where appropriate.**Job Qualifications*** Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.* 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion focused on web-based applications or enterprise-level software.* Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript (Node.js, React, Angular).* Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate code generation, automate boilerplate reduction, and streamline debugging workflows.* Proven ability to leverage LLMs to refactor legacy codebases, improve code readability, and generate comprehensive documentation and unit tests.* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.* Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).* Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services.* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems (e.g., Git).* Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, make sound architectural decisions, and drive projects to completion.* Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with cross-functional stakeholders.* Experience in the healthcare technology industry (EHR, practice management, etc.) is a plus.***ModMed Benefits Highlight:*** At ModMed, we believe it’s important to offer a competitive benefits package designed to meet the diverse needs of our growing workforce.
