Respiratory Therapy AdjunctSouth College is seeking candidates for adjunct faculty position for the Respiratory Therapy Program. The Respiratory Therapy Faculty is responsible for teaching respiratory therapy courses, providing continuous review of the curriculum with the PD and DCE, developing student assessment and critical thinking skills, and assisting in the lab and clinical experience.The adjunct instructor is a contract employee, based on quarterly program needs, by the sponsoring institution, South College. The adjunct instructor assumes responsibility for scheduled didactic and laboratory courses in the Respiratory Therapy Program.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate professionalism and provide quality customer service in accordance with South College's valuesCoordinating and evaluating students during laboratory coursesAssist the Program Director with fiscal planning and recommending the purchase of supplies and equipmentAttending advisory committee meetingsTeaching program courses as needed according to specified learning outcomesAcademic advising and career related counseling for studentsExhibit flexibility, willingness to learn, and ability to changeMonitoring student retention and identifying and assisting students at-riskMaintaining professional development in current healthcare trends, research, issues and practices (2 per year)Maintaining faculty development in current teaching strategies and assessment methods (2 per year)Providing support for programmatic and institutional initiativesRequirementsEducationBachelor's DegreeCredentialsRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)ExperienceMust provide and possess effective leadership and proficiency in instructional methodologies, ongoing evaluation and assessment, instruction, education, and counseling for respiratory therapy.Must possess the equivalent of four (4) years' experience as a RRT with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory therapy.Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.Must possess a current and in good standing state license.
