Contract | Days | 12-hour shifts (0645-1915 / 1845-0715) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Level III NICU at nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including congenital abnormalities, feeders/growers, and ventilator-dependent neonates (no ECMO patients)
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips; manage and titrate drips as required
• Collaborate with on-unit Respiratory Therapy (24/7) for ventilator management and with a neonatologist available in-house 24/7
• Perform IV access and related procedures independently, as no IV team is available on unit
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and work into the permanent staff holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in California
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience at a Level III facility or above
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips and titrate drips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Charge nurse experience (charge role available; charge nurses do not typically take a patient assignment)
• Familiarity working in a unit environment with respiratory therapy managing ventilators collaboratively
