Role Description The Registered Respiratory Therapist role is a full-time, on-site position located in La Grange, NC. This role is responsible for assessing, planning, and providing respiratory care to individuals with cardiopulmonary conditions, following physician orders and established clinical protocols. Day-to-day tasks include performing respiratory treatments and therapies, monitoring patient responses, conducting diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation. The therapist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans, educate individuals and families on respiratory health, and promote safe and effective use of respiratory equipment. The role also involves adhering to regulatory standards, infection control practices, and RHA's policies to ensure high-quality, person-centered care. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Cardiopulmonary and Respiratory Therapy skills, with the ability to assess and manage a range of respiratory conditions. Candidates should possess expertise in Respiratory Care and Medicine relevant to the evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of individuals receiving respiratory services. Candidates should possess experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or similar acute care settings, including familiarity with age-specific respiratory needs when applicable. Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as required in North Carolina. Knowledge of respiratory equipment, diagnostics, and therapeutic modalities, including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and medication administration via inhalation. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to urgent or emergent situations. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with interdisciplinary teams, individuals served, and families in a respectful, person-centered manner. Commitment to ethical practice, infection control, quality improvement, and compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Prior experience in hospital, long-term care, rehabilitation, or community-based healthcare settings is beneficial.
