Lactation Consultant

Under the direction of the Manager or Director, the Lactation Consultant is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for providing lactation management services to expectant and new parents. These functions are performed in accordance with the hospital's philosophy, policies and standards.

Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)

Typical Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing- required
• Masters of Science Degree in Nursing- preferred

Certification & Licensures:

• Licensed to practice in the State of Missouri- required
• CLC (certified lactation consultant)- required
• BLS Certification- required
• Certified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)- required within one (1) year of hire

Experience:

• Previous experience in maternal-child health nursing- required
• Five years of experience in lactation consulting- preferred
