Infection Control Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN)
Shippenville Nursing and Rehab
Infection Control / Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN) Shippenville Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Control / Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is essential in ensuring the highest level of care for our residents by overseeing infection prevention initiatives and leading staff education programs. Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with CDC, CMS, and DOH guidelines. Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting. Serve as a resource for staff on infection control practices and prevention strategies. Plan, coordinate, and deliver staff development and educational programs, including onboarding, annual competencies, and mandatory in-services. Partner with department leaders to assess training needs and support professional growth across all levels of staff. Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance. Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Qualifications: Current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania, unencumbered. Prior experience in infection control, staff education, or leadership role within a skilled nursing facility (preferred). Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain is a plus.
