District Overview Kiewit’s Oil, Gas, and Chemical Engineering Group is a full-service engineering firm. Our combined staff of engineers and design professionals has expertise that spans all major engineering disciplines, serving the LNG, midstream, refining and petrochemical markets. Location This position is based out of our Energy Corridor Office in Houston, TX. Responsibilities Proactive about learning new information and skills. Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization. Seeks feedback and uses it effectively. Has good understanding of the complete design and has good input into ways of improving the design. Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments. Recognize inefficiencies or misuse of symbology and questions. Identifies the customer’s both internally and externally. Handles various assignments, including rework, in timely manner to meet schedule deadlines. Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity. Performs quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy. Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details. Qualifications Associate degree or High School diploma + 2 years’ experience as a minimum. 2-4 years' minimum relevant experience in civil/structural design. Receives limited instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignment from more experienced engineer. Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well. Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Presents ideas clearly and in professional manner. Participates on teams effectively. Accepts direction from the team. Individually contributes to success of the team. Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives. Serves as point of contact for external or internal customers. Follows through on commitments made to internal and external customers. Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadlines. Intermediate AutoCAD skills. Other Requirements Work productively and meet deadlines timely. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
