EXPERIENCED MACHINE OPERATOR - SECONDARY OPERATIONS

Experienced Machine Operator – Secondary Operations F.I.T, Incorporated, an automotive manufacturing and distribution company located in Valley City, Ohio, seeks qualified candidates for a position as a Machine Operator within the Secondary Operations Department. Machines include, but are not limited to: Lathing, tapping, packing/inspection, roll threading, crimping Well qualified candidates will possess the following: Reliable attendance is essential and expected 2-3 Years of experience in machine operation preferred; creating/forming/machining steel products in a manufacturing setting (Entry level considered – must demonstrate mechanical aptitude) Ability to stand for long periods of time (8 Hour standard shift) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted / Average up to 30 lbs. repetitively where job may dictate Ability to utilize an ERP system, including computer terminal and scan guns, to record job related data Ability to read and interpret quality standards, specifications, and written instructions Superior attention to detail and quality is imperative Adherence to strict manufacturing/quality assurance specifications/tolerances is required Prior use and ability successfully utilizing calipers, micrometers, gages, optical comparators required Ability to read and follow written instructions / schedules/ work orders Superior organizational skills Excellent oral and written communication skills are required Ability to successfully meet the demands of a fast-paced work environment Adherence to safe work practices required Ability to multi-task is essential; Operators will be charged with multiple machines Ability to perform basic math functions Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment; Emphasis on teamwork Professional and courteous demeanor and communication skills are required Ability to extend workday/workweek beyond core hours when necessary This is a fast-paced position and the ability to prioritize and organize is essential. Safety and accuracy are both crucial, expected, and of the highest priority in this position. This is a hands-on position. Duties include, but are not limited to: Machine operation, machine set-up, troubleshooting, adjustments, performing quality checks, recording data into computer-based ERP system, printing labels, assembling pallets/pallet boxes, physically moving boxes, dumping scrap, executing routine maintenance/ preventive maintenance, assists in cleaning and organizing (5S) of Secondary Operations Department areas.
