Test Automation Lead

Akkodis is seeking a Test Automation Lead for a Contract position with a client in Memphis, TN . This hybrid role requires the candidate to be local to Memphis or willing to relocate (2 days onsite per week). The ideal candidate will bring deep automation experience, strong Java skills, and the ability to lead test strategy, design, execution, and framework governance across enterprise applications, including legacy platforms such as Mainframe/AS400. Rate Range $72/hour to $76/hour on W2; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Test Automation Lead Job Responsibilities Define and drive the overall automation strategy and roadmap for UI, API, backend, and integration testing. Lead test design activities, including test scenarios, test case development, and coverage strategies. Own test planning: scope, estimations, sprint planning, release planning, and automation backlog management. Oversee test execution—manual and automated—ensuring stability, repeatability, and timely delivery. Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks (data‑driven, keyword‑driven, hybrid). Implement automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, RestAssured, or similar tools. Validate backend APIs using RestAssured, Postman, or Karate. Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.). Review automation code, enforce coding standards, and drive framework governance. Analyze and publish test execution metrics (coverage, pass/fail trends, defect leakage). Provide clear communication of test status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders. Collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams within Agile delivery. Must‑Have Skills (8+ Years Experience) Test Automation: LeanFT, Selenium, or BDD Cucumber API Validation: RestAssured, Postman, Karate Java coding for automation development Experience testing frontend, backend, database, and Mainframe/AS400 (iSeries) systems Strong ability to work with non‑technical users in a corporate environment CI/CD pipeline integration with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Experience integrating LLM agents (O365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini) for productivity in test design & execution ISTQB / Advanced Test Automation certifications Contact & Apply If you are interested in this role, please click APPLY NOW.
