Rail Car Loader

Job Details Job Location: Warren Yard WTAP - Warren, MI 48091 Salary Range: $20.00 Job Shift: 1st VASCOR is offering you the opportunity to join our team where you will become an asset to the service we deliver to our customers every day. We are seeking a full-time Rail Loader to be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles up to 12 rail cars per day. They must adhere to strict safety guidelines and may also be required to perform inspections and maintenance tasks. What We’re Looking For: Physically capable, detail-oriented Familiar with the safety protocols and operating procedures of rail yard environment Excellent attendance and reliability are critical. What you’ll do: Identify vehicles to be loaded, moving them to and into rail cars and ensuring vehicles are properly parked. Set hand brakes on all rail cars. Properly install the chocks on vehicles and apply the seal on the rail car doors once doors are shut. Identify and report potential day-to-day operational quality issues and potential improvements. Must be customer focus. Must be able to take directions and act accordingly. Must be dependable to meet job requirements. Physical Demands Lifting to 25 lbs. 1-3 hrs. Throughout the day Standing 6-8 hours/day Walking, 6-8 hrs./day Reach above shoulder level 1-3 hrs./day. Bend, Stoop, Squat, and or twist–Repeatedly throughout day. On the job the employee must: Have natural or corrected eyesight capable of conducting inspections in varying levels of light. Have normal range of hearing, or corrected hearing, to be able to respond to normal workplace sounds including approaching vehicles.
