Procurement Buyer (R&D)

Job Description

The Procurement Buyer (R&D) plays a crucial role in supporting research and development initiatives by managing the acquisition of necessary materials and services. This role involves working within a large procurement team to identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure seamless purchase order management while maintaining compliance and cost efficiency. The buyer collaborates occasionally with other departments, primarily using ERP systems, dedicated procurement software, and spreadsheets to facilitate procurement processes.

Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate suppliers to meet R&D project requirements
Manage contract negotiations and maintain supplier relationships
Oversee purchase order processing and ensure timely delivery
Coordinate inventory levels to support ongoing R&D activities
Conduct cost analysis to optimize procurement expenses
Perform market research to identify trends and opportunities
Monitor compliance with procurement policies and regulations
Collaborate occasionally with R&D and other departments to align procurement needs

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation
Proficient in purchase order processing and inventory management
Strong skills in cost and data analysis
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Effective time management abilities
