Engineer Technician I

Job Overview This job family is responsible for providing support to engineers on technical projects and/or products. It involves collecting, maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data; creating, building, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes; preparing engineering documentation such as reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics; performing mathematical calculations per engineering specifications; undertaking data analysis; recommending alternative solutions; setting up and conducting tests; and recording data to assist with engineering analysis. This is an entry‑level position where incumbents are learning job skills and becoming familiar with company policies to complete assignments. Responsibilities Collect, maintain, organize, compile, and manipulate technical data. Create, assemble, modify, and repair prototypes. Prepare engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics. Perform mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertake data analysis following provided guidelines. Recommend alternative solutions to problems and obstacles. Set up and conduct tests; record data to support engineering analysis. Review work provided by the client and assess scope requirements. Provide engineering support during construction, including post‑construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. Conduct root‑cause analysis of outages and implement mitigation using engineering principles and design. Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, return to the office to perform engineering design work, and collect field data to aid in the development of electrical design work packages. Qualifications Entry‑level, high school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply basic scientific and engineering principles under close supervision.
