General Manager

About the Role:
Casa Nela is seeking a dynamic, hospitality-driven General Manager for Rosemary’s West Village. As a pillar of the Greenwich Village dining scene, our restaurant is known for its vibrant atmosphere, rooftop farm, and an exceptional Italian-centric beverage program. We are looking for an experienced leader who is resourceful, instinctively puts others first, and pairs strong operational skills with a deep passion for wine, spirits, and beverage hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Excellence: Oversee all daily Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations, ensuring the highest standards of hospitality are maintained.
• Beverage Leadership: Collaborate on wine list management, inventory, and spirit curation, ensuring the beverage program aligns with our seasonal Italian menus.
• Financial Leadership: Manage the bottom line, including labor controls, beverage/food costs, inventory, and qualitative performance targets to drive long-term growth.
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor FOH staff. Run regular beverage education, wine tastings, and steps-of-service training to elevate team product knowledge and upsell capabilities.
• Community & Culture: Champion our culinary philosophy and foster a warm, welcoming environment for our neighborhood regulars and guests.
• Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with all local labor, SLA (State Liquor Authority), health, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive restaurant management experience (General Manager or Senior AGM) in a high-volume, upscale-casual or fine-dining New York City environment.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Italian wines, regional flavor profiles, and classic spirits/cocktails.
• Sommelier certification (CMS or WSET Level 2+) is a strong plus, though equivalent hands-on industry experience is highly valued.
• A demonstrated passion for culinary arts, European/Italian influences, and sustainable farm-to-table practices.
• Strong financial acumen with proficiency in POS systems, scheduling tools, and P&L management.
• Excellent problem-solving, adaptability, and time management skills under high-pressure conditions.
