Business System Analyst

The Business Analyst, Data & Analytics serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics team, translating business needs into data-driven solutions. This role partners closely with stakeholders across the organization and collaborates with Data Engineers, Report Developers, Data Analysts, Database Administrators and IT Security to deliver actionable insights, scalable data products, and measurable business value. Key Responsibilities Business Engagement & Requirements Gathering Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges, and data needs Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather and document business and functional requirements Translate business needs into clear, actionable data and analytics requirements (e.g., user stories, data definitions, KPIs) Act as a trusted advisor to business teams on how to leverage data to drive performance and innovation Data & Analytics Solution Delivery Collaborate with Data Engineers to define data sourcing, transformation, and integration requirements Work with Report Developers and Data Analysts to design dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions Ensure solutions align with business objectives, data governance standards, and scalability requirements Support user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, and deployment of data solution Data Strategy & Value Realization Identify opportunities to enhance business processes through data and analytics Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for initiatives Help prioritize data initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and strategic alignment Contribute to building a data-driven culture across the organization Data Governance & Quality Partner with data teams to define business data definitions, metadata, and lineage Support data quality initiatives by identifying gaps and working with teams to resolve issues Promote adherence to data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices Communication & Change Management Communicate complex data concepts and insights in a clear, business-friendly manner Develop documentation, training materials, and user guides for data products Support change management and adoption of data tools and analytics solution Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related fie 3–7+ years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or related roles Experience working in cross-functional teams within a data-driven environment Technical & Analytical Skills Strong understanding of data concepts, data modeling, and analytics workflows Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau Familiarity with SQL and data querying concepts Understanding of modern data platforms (e.g., cloud data environments, data lakes/warehouses, Databricks, Alation Business & Soft Skills Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities Ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in a growth-oriented or transformation-focused organization Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product delivery frameworks Experience working with tools such as Databricks, AWS, or data governance platforms Background in industries with complex operations (e.g., energy, logistics, or industrial sectors) #J-18808-Ljbffr Addison Group
