This position will report directly to the GNC Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization of Lockheed Martin SpaceAs an experienced GN&C analyst in this role, you will be tasked with supporting multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series.What you will be doing in this position:Design, analyze, and optimize GN&C subsystem dynamics and control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.Develop and verify high-fidelity simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ environments.Support system integration, test, and verification activities to ensure subsystem performance meets program requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the program life cycle, from requirements through verification and validation.Contribute to mission operations and post-launch performance assessments, as needed.Successful applicants generally have at least 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or other related field. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.Basic QualificationsSkill Requirements:Possess general domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization.Experience in developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments using programming tools that include MATLAB/Simulink, C++Security Clearance / Work Authorization:To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) for long term employment on this programDesired SkillsExperience with CORESIMExperience with flight software development and autocode to C++ and PythonAttitude Determination and Kalman Filter ExperienceMulti-body dynamics experienceFamiliarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applicationsExperience going through a spacecraft program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing of the GN&C subsystem for space applications including mission operationsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environmentDemonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practicePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
