Trailer Mechanic

We're looking for a skilled Trailer Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to keeping our operation running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and able to balance planned maintenance and project work with urgent repair needs as they arise. Perform DOT Inspections Diagnose and repair trailer systems Repair Brake, Suspension, air systems, lights, electrical issues and hydraulic issues Maintain a safe and clean work environment Maintain equipment to standards set by Federal Motor Carrier & DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards. You are happy to work a 2 nd shift or 3 rd shift schedule with some weekends. Who You Are: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent Strong experience with trailer repair and maintenance Strong work ethic and attention to detail Willing to work independently and as part of a team Has minimum tools for heavy trailer repair, list will be provided. Frequently works in a crouched position or on back lying on mechanic’s dolly beneath motor vehicle equipment; subjected to dust, dirt, and grease conditions Work well on a team dedicated to proper fleet maintenance Valid state driver's license Class A CDL (preferred) About the Team: At Kalmbach Trucking, we believe our Service Center Team is vital to the success of our business.
