Location 2972 Larkin Avenue,Clovis, CA, 93612,United States Base Pay $23.00 - $26.00 / Hour Industry Civil , Construction, Solar Required Degree High school Manage Others No Position Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for civil construction projects. Working under the direction of the Lead Estimator, this role supports the bidding process by analyzing project plans, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and maintaining organized estimating documentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand scope, requirements, and constraints. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Identify key cost variables, assumptions, and risk factors impacting project estimates. Research materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing for bidding purposes. Solicit, review, and compile pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Maintain organized estimate files, bid logs, and supporting documentation for auditability and future reference. Collaborate with the estimating team and other internal stakeholders to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies. Utilize estimating and takeoff software to support efficient and accurate estimating processes. Adapt to evolving systems, tools, and estimating practices as the business grows. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of civil construction means and methods. Strong numerical aptitude with an analytical and detail-oriented mindset. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; experience with additional estimating software is a plus. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated professionalism, adaptability, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
