Data Scientist - NLP

Salary: $94,000 - 134,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline; a PhD is preferred.
• We need strong hands-on experience using SAS, R, or Python for NLP applications such as document summarization, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, or topic modeling.
• We expect at least four years of experience building scalable, production-ready NLP solutions with tools such as scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Spark NLP.
• We require experience using Git/GitHub for source code version control.
• We look for experience applying transformer architectures to develop NLP models.
• We need familiarity with open-source NLP libraries such as Gensim, spaCy, or NLTK.
• We require experience working with models such as BERT, GPT-J, RoBERTa, T5, or similar transformer-based systems.
• Experience with GenAI and prompt engineering is a plus.
• Experience with Databricks and MLflow is a plus.
• Experience with machine translation and transcription of foreign-language documents using Microsoft Azure translation services is a plus.
• We look for experience working in AWS cloud environments and with related services such as Bedrock and Textract.
• We require experience coordinating and maintaining user stories.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

• We collect, clean, and prepare data sets for computational modeling using Python.
• We apply preprocessing methods such as stop-word removal, stemming, lemmatization, and tokenization.
• We perform feature engineering and attribute evaluation using NLP techniques such as TF-IDF, word2vec, GloVe, and FastText.
• We identify key modeling drivers within business processes and existing data sets and select appropriate evaluation approaches.
• We build and apply classification and other modeling techniques, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning, regression, neural networks, deep learning, and natural language processing.
• We investigate, report, and justify model results through validation work.
• We present modeling outcomes visually, communicate insights, and explain their relevance to business challenges.
