Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team for a travel contract opportunity. Candidates will have the option to select contracts lasting either 13 or 26 weeks. We understand the importance of work-life balance and allow the request of up to 2 major holidays off. In this unit, travelers are only required to work 1 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, or New Year's Eve.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience is required.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system is required.
• Current certifications are required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred

Patient Care Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will manage a diverse array of patient diagnoses including labor, preterm labor, and will be responsible for:

• Circulating during procedures in OB-GYN settings
• Post-Operative and Pre-Operative care
• Scrubbing during surgical procedures
• Providing care for low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery patients

Special Procedures and Equipment

Responsibilities will include proficiency in handling special procedures and equipment such as:

• Administration of blood and blood products
• Cardioversion and Defibrillation
• Management of cooling and warming blankets
• Utilization of drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps
• Wound vac management
• Administration of medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate

Staffing and Float Requirements

The staffing ratio is advantageous, ranging from 1:1 to 1:3. There may be a requirement to float to Post-Partum and possibly to Labor and Delivery.
