Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments to analyze patients' dietary habits, lifestyle choices, and health conditions.
• Develop individualized care plans that incorporate patient feedback, medical history, and specific dietary needs, particularly for diabetes management.
• Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, focusing on healthy eating patterns, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in the clinic to devise and implement integrated treatment plans that promote overall patient health.
• Perform nutrition-focused physical examinations and interpret biochemical data to assess nutritional status accurately.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient interactions and care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Stay informed about the latest research and developments in nutrition science, integrating this knowledge into clinical practices to enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients with diabetes and related conditions, addressing their specific dietary requirements and helping them navigate the challenges of managing their health through nutrition. You will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, developing cultural sensitivity and adaptability in your approach to dietary education and support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Active state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Texas.
• Proficient understanding of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and medical nutrition therapy, particularly focused on diabetes care.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary team members.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in outpatient care, particularly in settings focusing on diabetes management or chronic disease.
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software.
• Experience in conducting workshops or group education sessions regarding nutrition and self-management strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

The Registered Dietitian position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 70,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. In addition, performance bonuses are available based on individual and clinic success.
