Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a contract basis. This opportunity involves working closely with a high school student, providing direct one-on-one instruction for four hours each day. The role is structured around a 20 hour per week schedule, with openness to consider full-time candidates who are passionate about individualized education.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certification or credentials as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with high school-aged students, preferably in a 1:1 capacity
  • Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one instruction and support to a 9th-grade student, fostering academic growth and independence
  • Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to meet the diverse needs of visually impaired learners
  • Collaborate with families, general educators, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
  • Advocate for access and inclusion within the school setting
