About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief People Officer and Senior Vice President for Human Resources to lead its human capital strategy and organizational culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for talent acquisition and development, total rewards and compensation strategy, labor and employee relations, organizational development, change management, HR technology, and data analytics. This role is pivotal in advancing a high-performance culture where faculty and staff can excel and thrive. The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven executive with a progressive approach to talent management, particularly in a competitive labor market, and will be adept at connecting various HR functions into a coherent strategy. This is a builder's role for a forward-looking people leader who can directly address complex issues and lead meaningful change. Key priorities include elevating labor and employee relations operations, particularly in the areas of collective bargaining and grievance resolution, and fostering productive relationships with union leadership. The Chief People Officer will also be expected to lead through influence, sound judgment, and purposeful relationship-building, while leveraging technology, data, and AI to enhance HR practices. The role demands a pragmatic, solutions-oriented partner who can work effectively across a decentralized institution, balancing decisiveness with empathy, and building a more connected employee experience. The position is critical as the company navigates a period of academic investment and operational renewal, with a focus on attracting and retaining exceptional faculty and staff in the face of increasing competition for skilled talent.
