Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care to surgical patients across a variety of procedures in the OR/ASU
- Maintain sterile technique, assist with positioning, draping, and instrument/supply management during procedures
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, observe for signs of distress, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams
- Prepare, stock, and pass instruments, maintain objective documentation in the medical record, and ensure accurate specimen handling
- Assist with patient safety, use of patient lifting devices, and preventive measures to reduce risk of injury
- Facilitate handoffs and communicate changes in patient condition to the next care team; participate in post-anesthesia care as required

Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current New York State RN license in hand
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
- Proficiency with Meditech or equivalent electronic medical record systems
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced OR/ASU environment
- On-call availability with a 30-minute response time
- Willingness to work weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- 100-mile radius travel requirement
