Process Engineer I

As a Process Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring high product quality, and driving operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and implementation of process engineering strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conducting process analyses to identify areas for improvement.

In this role, you will provide technical support to manufacturing operations to maintain and improve productivity, process, and product quality. You will utilize engineering skills, hands-on approaches, and work in cross-functional teams to solve production issues, develop processes, and implement changes in production. The role will require balancing between providing day-to-day production support and actively working on engineering projects. Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards will be paramount to your role.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for the Packaging manufacturing area (glass-to-metal seal and getter attach) to achieve output and yield goals. Typical start time is 7:30 am to 8:30 am.
• Address product and process quality issues, provide guidance to production assemblers, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Perform engineering tests, conduct process improvement projects, and prepare technical written reports for management and customers.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, provide guidance to maintenance techs, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.
• Provide technical support for out-process operations and interface with external suppliers as needed.
• Work with production supervisors and leads, reduce bottlenecks in the line, and provide back-up production coverage as needed.
• Ensure work instructions, drawings, logs, and records are accurate and up to date.
• Train and certify production assemblers using a hands-on training approach.

Qualifications

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

We Value

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with CAD software and GD&T.
• Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence and process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, such as automation, semiconductor manufacturing, machining, and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to work effectively with a broad team of people and outside contractors.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $79,000 – $99,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell Aerospace considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations
