What You'll Do
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers to produce complex parts from customer drawings and specifications.
- Our work sizes range to that of 24-inch cube or smaller part size with tight tolerances
- Develop new machining methods and tooling for complex, first-of-their-kind parts
- Select the right cutting tools and workholding for the material and process in front of you
- Ability to interact with customers on new development projects
- Interpret GD&T to inspect and measure finished parts against demanding quality standards using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial/digital indicators, bore gauges, and thread gauges
- Bring ideas to the table for continuous improvement - better methods, smarter tooling, tighter cycles
- Collaborate with engineering on the design, test, and new product development - your shop-floor perspective helps shape what gets built next
- Equivalent knowledge and ability of a 20-year machinist
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus advanced technical training
- Sharp attention to detail and a genuine problem-solving mindset
- Comfort with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Measure and document as required inspection data to assure part compliance, utilizing mechanical methods, manual CMM.
- Solid math fundamentals (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions)
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of customer specs
- A team-first attitude - this work gets done best together
- A strong commitment to safety and a clean, organized workspace
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Manual dexterity for extended periods
- Ability to stand for extended periods
