Machine Operators are also responsible for performing regular maintenance checks to ensure proper machine functioning. They are trained on various safety guidelines and regulations and must carefully follow procedures and protocols to ensure safe machine operation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitoring and maintaining warehouse equipment and machinerySetting up manufacturing equipmentReading and following blueprints, schematics and written instructionsUsing machine equipment to complete tasksPerforming routine inspections of manufacturing equipmentEvaluating the efficiency of each unit regularlyIdentifying and making improvements by adjusting equipment partsCleaning all applicators and machinery after painting is completedManaging time efficiently to meet project deadlinesFollowing all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines to prevent accidents or illness for self and othersPerforming other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the positionMust be age 18 or olderMust be legally eligible to work in the United StatesHigh School Diploma or GED, preferred1+ years of industrial machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment1+ years of experience maintaining industrial machinery1+ years of experience using hand and power tools1+ years of experience using computerized machineryPrior OSHA and MSHA Training requiredJob Skills Competencies:Excellent ability to read blueprints, schematics and manualsCompetency with basic math and measuring skillsExcellent mechanical skills, including comfort using tools to make simple repairsPossesses an approachable and positive demeanorExcellent trouble-shooting skillsExtremely safety-conscious and knowledgeable on OSHA and MSHA regulationsFollows rules, instructions and procedures for safe equipment operationGreat time management skillsSolution-orientedProficient verbal communication skillsKeen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product or operations issuesFlexible to work overtime as required to meet project deadlinesPhysical Requirements:Able to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for extended periods of timeAbility to reach, bend or stoop to adjust materials or machinery partsGood vision to read blueprints, schematics and manualsAble to grip and hold and use wrist to use tools for machinery maintenance and set-upAble to wear appropriate PPE equipment for each job taskPhysical stamina and able to lift up to 75 lbs. without assistanceAbility to work in a warehouse environment with extreme and fluctuating temperaturesEmployment Disclaimer: The duties described above are general in nature for the level of work performed and are not intended to be used as a comprehensive list of all the duties, activities, and responsibilities required of job incumbents.
